Our tour guide Elisa was fantastic, she personalised the tour for the people with her. The space containing the last supper is timed, with limited numbers allowed and climate controlled- Elise made this process simple. Following this we walked to Sforzesco Castle, ending at the Duomo, along the way we went down streets we did not know existed and learned about the early history and architecture of Milan. I am pleased we arranged this for our first day in Milan, it gave us a great insight and we took note of places we will go back to over the coming days. Thank you , Elisa, for sharing your knowledge. *****
Our guide was so knowledgeable about the history of da Vinci and the Last Supper. She shared a lot of fascinating information about how the painting came to be and the artist himself. From all that she shared, it’s a miracle that the painting survived all these years in the condition it is to date. Having waited for tickets to be released for the church itself only to have them snapped up in the blink of an eye, a tour like this is an excellent choice if you are able to do it. This tour also included the Sforza Castle grounds and the Duomo. The castle and its history was a bonus in my view and once again the guide provided a robust amount of information about its construction and how it had been used over the years. Having seen the Duomo inside earlier that day, my partner and I left the tour a bit early at the castle, feeling very satisfied with what we learned and saw.
