We had the pleasure of spending a day with Hector, who brought Medellín and the story of Comuna 13 to life. His deep connection to the community and vast knowledge of Medellín’s history made this tour unforgettable. Over the past decade, Hector has witnessed and contributed to Comuna 13’s transformation, and his passion shines in every story he tells. One highlight was learning about the escalators in Comuna 13 and their revolutionary impact on access and opportunity, transforming the community’s economic and social fabric. Hector’s ability to explain Colombia’s complex history with clarity was remarkable. Everywhere we went, locals greeted Hector warmly—a testament to his charitable work and efforts to uplift the area. Beyond the tour, he helped us plan our trip to Guatapé and even stayed in touch to assist with translations. Hector isn’t just a guide; he’s a true ambassador for Medellín. If you visit, book with him—you’ll leave with a richer understanding and a new friend. Thanks!
