Medici Dynasty History Museum Ticket

The Museo de' Medici - located in one of the most extraordinary buildings in the city - is the place to discover the history of the most famous dynasty in the world. From Lorenzo the Magnificent to the Electress Palatine, the memory of Casa Medici is preserved and handed down here through the exhibition of precious collections of works of art, historical relics, original documents, faithful reconstructions and multimedia installations. Visiting the Medici history museum in Florence is also an opportunity to discover an extraordinary monument: the Rotonda Brunelleschi. Designed and begun by the most famous architect of the Renaissance, the Rotunda remained incomplete from 1437 for five hundred years. This extraordinary place, modeled on the Roman Pantheum, was part of the most important humanistic library of the time, frequented by Cosimo the Elder, Lorenzo the Magnificent and Leo X. Later Cosimo I, Grand Duke, wanted to make it the first seat of the Academy of Arts and of the Drawing and, in the nineteenth century, the sculptor Enrico Pazzi sculpted the famous statue of Dante today in Piazza Santa Croce. Finally reopened to the public after twenty years of closure, the Rotonda now houses the precious collections of the Museo de' Medici.

We booked the Uffizi and Accademia in the 3-day pass. It was a bit inconvenient because you had to buy the tickets at two different places. It would have been easier to buy them at one place. The Uffizi and Accademia are definitely worth a visit, it was great.

A little hiccup when sending the tickets because not the right dates but quickly resolved by our very friendly intermediary a little more clarity in the places to collect the tickets would be nice
