The Masca Gorge offers one of the most impressive hiking experiences in Tenerife. For the past few years, in order to ensure everyone's enjoyment, there has been a limited number of places available each day. In addition, it is a demanding trail, not without risks, so it is highly recommended to be accompanied by an expert tour guide. We have prepared a carefully organized, all-inclusive adventure excursion that includes admission and all the details necessary for an unforgettable experience. You can book the activity in Spanish, English, or German. This adventure begins in Santiago del Teide, where we will take transportation to the traditional hamlet of Masca. From there, we will begin the 5 km descent through the Masca Ravine, crossing dramatic landscapes until we reach a paradisiacal cove at the foot of the imposing Los Gigantes Cliffs, which reach 450 meters in height. For safety reasons, swimming is currently not allowed in this area. After a short break to enjoy the surroundings, we will take a boat and sail back to the Los Gigantes Marina, enjoying unbeatable views of the coast. From the marina, we will return to Santiago del Teide by taxi. This medium-difficulty activity combines the excitement of hiking with the tranquility of a relaxing boat ride, ideal for those seeking adventure and serenity. The recommended parking area is at the Santiago del Teide Cemetery (a 9-minute walk from the meeting point). Duration: Hiking: 3.5 hours. Boat ride: approximately 20 minutes. Experience Tenerifes most spectacular hike in a small group and escorted by a certified and experienced hiking guide! Our multilingual staff meets you at the meeting point/ designated parking area in Santiago del Teide to take you to the shuttle bus to Masca village. After the safety-instruction on the picturesque mountain villages´ square you will be handed your helmets, your passports/ ID-cards will be checked as well as your boots´ soles (entry into the canyon is only permitted with trekking or hiking shoes in proper conditions!). After a quick toilet-stop in the Visitors Centre we enter the Masca Gorge and start our roughly 3.5 hour descent from 650 metres above sea level until the beach. Our guide explains some peculiarities of the village and the protected area as well as the geological formation of the gigantic rock walls around us. After the hike we have a break nearby the Masca beach and then board the water taxi which takes us to Los Gigantes port, passing just a few meters next to some of Europe’s very highest and steepest cliffs. After this entertaining 15 minutes boat trip we take a taxi back to the car park and have an optional coffee stop all together before everybody hits the own way home.
