We had a great time with our guide, Houssine, and everyone else who was involved. Everything ran smoothly, the driving felt safe and there were nice stops along the way. The hotel on the first night had a pool, rooftop scenic dining, and we had a private room. Our desert camp on the second evening was also great - we were fortunate enough to have a private room despite booking the budget option :) All of the food was good, although it pays not to be late to meals at the hotel on the first night. I was uncertain how I would feel about the welfare of the camels, and was happy that ours looked healthy and comfortable. We even witnessed the camel owners son kiss and cuddle one of the camels faces :) Along the way we learnt about how various Moroccan crafts are created, and while this did feel a little touristy, it’s cool to learn and you don’t have to buy anything. Same for the food - there are more options than where the van parks. To sum it up, we highly recommend!

Start off in the bustling city Marrakech with hotel pickup and make your way through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, marveling at Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou. Then take a deep dive into Dades Valley before finishing up with an awe-inspiring tour of the Erg Chebbi Sand Dune, all within just three days! Pack your bags for this beautiful expedition that allows you to experience some of Morocco's natural wonders and cultural delights firsthand.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Tinghir/Dades Gorges
Driving Time: 5 hours and 40 minutes

Begin your 3-day adventure with a journey through the towering peaks of Morocco's Tizi n Tichka Pass. Stop to marvel at Ait Ben Haddou, an incredible UNESCO World Heritage site that has been featured in countless films!

Continue on towards Ouarzazate before making your way across the Skoura Palm grove and up into the tranquil Rose Valley (roses in bloom in the mid-spring) where you can spot brilliant kasbahs surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. Wrap it all up with a night spent in the nearby village of Tinghir at Hotel Saghro or similar, complete with dinner for a local Moroccan experience.

Day 2: Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Dunes of Merzouga
Driving Time: 4 hours and 45 minutes

Take an unforgettable journey and explore the Sahara as you head towards Merzouga. Take in breathtaking views of the canyon at Todra Gorge. Afterwards make your way through Tinjdad before arriving in the Merzouga Desert for a camel ride across its sands and an unforgettable sunset!

Top off this adventure by camping overnight beside the dunes for an enchanting night like no other surrounded only by peace and serenity.

Day 3: Merzouga – Marrakech
Driving Time: 8 hours 30 minutes

After a hearty breakfast, ride the camel back to Merzouga village. The next leg of your journey will be a thrilling drive through incredible undulating desertscapes and acacia trees towards the Atlas Mountains on the way back to your hotel in Marrakech.

Our guide was Ismail and he was very good and attentive. The trip went very smoothly and everything was well planned out. The van rides did not feel too long since there were many stops we took. Only downside was that lunches were not included and the breakfast was very basic. Also, the luxury camp upgrade is VERY worth your money. Overall very fun trip, camel riding and camping in the merzouga desert was an experience you will never forget.
