Driss, our driver, was amazing!! Very friendly and helpful. Answered all our questions with great professionalism and was kind and generous, giving us the best experience :). While the journey is long it is definitely worth it, I would still choose to do 2 day rather than 3 day as I don’t think you really need to stop overnight, at least in summer (I do feel bad for the driver working so hard though). We stopped at a small cafe, mountain pass, argan/honey producer where we sampled products for free, delicious lunch and passed through many beautiful sites like the valley of roses. The camel ride was extremely fun. I hope the camels were treated well, they seemed happy and in good health. We spent good amount of time on the dune and watched sunset. Generous dinner, fun fire show and sleeping was fairly comfortable in upgraded tent (no AC though). Second day good breakfast. We did 1.5 hour tour in Rissani, stopped at baby camels, good lunch and more on the way to fes :) thank you Driss!

Full description

Day 1: Marrakech / Ouarzazate / Rose valley / Merzouga

In the Early Morning After meeting you at your hotel in
Marrakech we will go toward the High Atlas through the Tizin-Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plains up to 2260 m above sea level passing
through small villages, small waterfalls, and through the continuously changing landscape and colors of these beautiful mountains.

We will go through Ouarzazate, the famous Valley of Roses, and the Dades Valley.

After arriving in Merzouga you will find the guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Erg-Chebbi, after 20 min you will reach to the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. After a wonderful dinner, there will be a campfire and drums playing, and we will listen to the songs of the Berbers, Nomads of Southern Moroccan.

Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Ziz Valley - Medilt– Fez

In the morning you can get up early, take a walk over the sand dunes, and watch the sunrise from just behind the Algerian border, which is about 50 km from Merzouga. We head back to the hotel, after breakfast, shower, and Rest, we'll start our tour back to Fes, through, Ziz Valley, Berber villages, and the Middle Atlas, we will arrive at Fes in the evening for the end of the trip.

Day2: Merzouga/ Marrakech
In the morning you can get up early, take a walk over the sand dunes and watch the sunrise from just behind the Algerian border, which is about 50 km from Merzouga.
You will have some time to get ready and have Breakfast. Then you will depart towards Marrakech Passing through the Famous road of one 1000 Kasbahs & the High Atlas Mountain with few quick stops. We reach Marrakech in the Evening for the End of the Trip around 20h00.

Please note that it is a long drive on the first day from Marrakech to the desert camp, can be up to 10 hours. There won't be many long stops on the way in order to make it to the camp before sunset and benefit from the camel ride.

Thanks so much for the 5 stars! We’re really glad you had a great experience on the tour with our team. If you’re ever back, we recommend the 3-day desert tour for a slower pace, or a day trip to Chefchaouen, the magical blue city. Hope to see you again soon!
