Full description

Go through the Tizi N Tichka path, in order to get the Tamdakhte Kasbah and the one at Ait Ben Haddou. There, you will visit this UNESCO world heritage site and continue the journey to Ouarzazate and Agdez, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Draa Valley.
Then, you will follow this valley until Tansikht, where you will be able to discover kasbahs and typical villages along the Draa Valley until Zagora. From there, you will enjoy an hour camel ride with your guide to get to the authentic Tizi desert camp.
At dinner you will eat a traditional meal with Moroccan mint tea, then spend the night in your tent.

After seeing a beautiful sunrise over the dunes, you will be back in your 4x4 and to start the Moroccan desert discovery trip, including of course, the famous Chegaga with the biggest sand dunes in Morocco. Then, head to a village called Mhamid. After arrival you will enjoy lunch.
Then you will be able to walk in the big dunes or practice sand-boarding before coming back to your 4x4 and then spending the night under the starry sky in authentic tents: erg Lihoudi. Admire the beautiful sunset across the big dunes of Lihoudi. Listen to traditional music around the fire at night.

After the tour, in the early morning, you will hop back in the 4x4 to join your minibus and driver before coming back to Marrakech via the Draa valley and the Taourirte Kasbah.

The tour was fairly as per description, however especially the 1 day and 3 day was disappointing. Ait Ben Haddou, which should be an highlight, we where just rushed trough together with an additional bus (total group around 36 people) in 45min. We not even passed the main gates and just entered from the side. The guide send us to a shop, to buy the obligatory "Beduinin scarf" and brought us to a restaurant with totally overpriced food. Before you reach the camp, you will have camel ride of appox. 30min in the stone dessert to the camp. The camp itself is quite nice, even not really in the sand dunes as you might expect, staff is friendly and the food was good. Most of our group booked only 1 nigh tour and went back directly on the following day. 3 day one the way back they stop by one more Kasbah, which you will see only from outside and they bring you into an carpet selling shop. Most people really disappointed by that, as the sellers are rude and try to force you to buy something.

Unfortunately, our pick-up didn't work at all on the first day (fellow travelers didn't have this problem), it was extremely confused because different pick-up locations were mentioned. the journey over the atlas mountains is very time consuming. there are only a few hours left for the actual destinations of the trip. in my opinion, the tourist sales locations (carpet sales coops, etc.), which serve the sole purpose of spending additional money, should be deleted from the travel plan. true time wasters, I would have preferred to spend the time individually at the destination. if the trip is made in the winter half-year, you have to be prepared for nights in unheated tents. i think there should be one bottle of water for free per person per day.

The experience is wonderful since it allows you to see the contrasts of the country passing through different towns and areas. The experience in the desert is wonderful and, in my opinion, mandatory if you travel to Morocco. Our driver, Lahcen, has taken us to great places to eat along the way.
