This ticket includes a guided walking tour by an authorised guide. The tour in a small group in English takes you around the fortress islands through the centuries, presenting the main sights and the key events in the history of the fortress, offering interesting perspectives on the Finnish history and history of Northern Europe. The duration of the ferry ride is about 20-25 minutes. The duration of the tour is about 1 hour. After the tour you can explore the island at your own pace and/or head back to the Market Square with the next ferry. Departure frequency of 30 minutes. Vessels leave from Helsinki Market Square, "Keisariluodonlaituri"-pier (which is next to the Korkeasaari zoo pier). Watch out for FRS Finland signs. The construction works of one of the biggest Nordic fortresses, Suomenlinna, began in 1748. The best way to learn the fascinating story behind Unesco's World Heritage Site, the Suomenlinna fortress, is to join a guided tour. During this public one-hour guided walking tour, an authorized Suomenlinna guide will tell you about the 270 years of the eventful history of Suomenlinna under the rule of three different states and about life on the islands today. The guide will take you to the most important sights of the fortress: Artillery Bay, Great Courtyard, Piper's Park, and the Dry Dock, which in its day was among the largest in the world. A ticket for the guided tour includes free admission to the Ehrensvärd Museum during its opening hours (the museum is open only from April through September). You may visit the museum before or after the tour according to your schedule. The tours start from the Suomenlinna Museum and last one hour. It takes only 15 minutes to get to Suomenlinna from Market Square (Helsinki City Ferry, HSL) and an additional 10 minutes to walk to the Suomenlinna Museum. During May - September, the FRS Finland waterbus takes you to the pier next to the Suomenlinna Museum, and the travel time is 25 minutes.
