What an amazing experience to walk in the crater of a volcano. From start to finish the trip was amazing and well worth the money. Martha our English speaking guide was very knowledgeable. The only downside was the coach was not air conditioned which was made worse by people not sticking to the departure times, don’t be that person that makes the coach late. The walk down to the crater was fine but coming back up was quite hard work as it was so hot which made it hard to breathe. There is a small cafe at the entrance to the crater selling drinks and snacks and there are toilet facilities there too. We had a hire car so were able to make our own way to Kardamena but I imagine having to rely on the coach to pick you up from your resort could make this a very long day depending on where you are staying.
It was great! Due to weather we had to leave a bit earlier than expected and someone was sent to collect us from our hotel as our accommodation was located quite far from the pickup point. Symi was fantastic, 3 hours was perfect. St. George’s bay was absolutely beautiful, but the current and winds were quite strong so swimming was a little difficult. Overall, completely worth it. The guides were great and my partner and I had a fantastic time. We recommend!
The boat tour to the volcanic island was very well organized. Only the transfer back to the hotel could have been better organized. It took 20 minutes there and an hour back with detours. Booking and advance information were easy and good. The tour guide Kat(h)arina was very friendly and provided a good amount of information about the island and the volcanic crater in German. All in all, a worthwhile trip with children. Thank you very much!
We had a wonderful day out with all of our expectations, met and a great guide who helped us at all times and was very attentive. Highly recommend this trip. Take plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. Good walking shoes really are essential.
Well organised and an enjoyable day out. Best to know that you may visit the crater immediately on landing on the island or immediately before leaving the island. Doesn't really matter as it is spectacular at either time!
