We had a great time. Patrick, our guide, was a great driver and guide. Bromo was gorgeous and smoking. Due to Patrick’s timing skills, we were a bit quicker than most, giving us perfect spots before the crowd. Watch out: if you’re tall, the drive might be a bit rough due to little space in the back of the land cruisers. But it was worth every minute for me!
It was an amazing activity. I would recommend it ! Our driver was really nice and explained a lot of things about Bromo. The driver often proposed taking pictures for us, and they turned out amazing.

Full description
The trip will start around midnight (00.30am) as your driver will pick you up directly from your desired pick up location. Feel free to take a nap in the car as you drive towards Mount Bromo. From there, you will continue the journey in a 4WD Jeep, going through a bumpy road to get to Mount Penanjakan/ Kingkong hill.
Accompanied by a sip of coffee and Pisang goreng (fried banana) to warm the night while waiting for the sun to emerge from its hideout.
Sunrise at the top of Mount Penanjakan summit and revealed the hidden landscape of Mount Bromo surrounding.
Driving down the hill, you will pass the vast sea of sand, resulting from the eruption of Mount Bromo, in a 45 minute-easy track all the way to the peak. From the crater rim, you can see the active Bromo crater, caldera and the mountainous views of Mount Batok and the highest mountain on Java Island, Mount Semeru. Also, you can find the Hindu temple reflecting the Majapahit Kingdom's history.
To complete the day, you will be get a simple breakfast Toast, Strawberry jam, egg, Fruits and a little mineral water before returning to Malang at around 12.30 AM.
