From Tromsø: Fun and Easy Dog Sledding Adventure

From Tromsø: Fun and Easy Dog Sledding Adventure

The tour departs from the city center of Tromsø from where you will head out on a scenic 50-minute bus transfer to our camp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival at our camp in Breivikeidet, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. We will provide you with thermal suits, boots, hats and mittens before heading out on our dogsledding adventure. Your guide will go through the safety instructions and show you the basics of driving the sled. After listening carefully to the demonstration and a few minutes of practice, you will enjoy driving on the open fields and inside the forest trails with the mountains of the Lyngen Alps as your backdrop. Two people will share one sled: one as a driver and the other one as a passenger, and you will get the chance to swap places halfway through the tour. This will provide everyone with the opportunity to experience the life of a dog musher and to take all the photographs they want while being a passenger. After your dog sledding ride and arriving back at the camp, you are invited into our lavvu (indigenous Sami tent), where you can enjoy a hot drink and cake around the campfire. Once you changed back to your normal clothes, and waved one last goodbye to the huskies, it is time to board back the bus to Tromsø.

A brilliant day hosted by Yani & Karoline! The views were unforgettable and we were blessed with blue skies - a memory I will always cherish. Chippo(the pooch) was also a great addition, running beside us, guiding us through the Norwegian Alps. We also came back to vegetable soup and bread which were delicious, very much appreciated after 2+ hours in the Alps. So much equipment provided - no need to worry about layering up beforehand, as you take it all off on arrival! Thanks again for great memories.

We enjoyed all the activities arranged by tour. They have lots of reindeer and sledding with reindeer was amazing (good for people with children as well). We got to know about Sami culture. We requested for vegetarian option and it was nice and warm. Also, they served variety of beverage and cookies. They also have option for clothing which anyone can take if needed. Overall we had an amazing time. Thank you!
