A two hour nature focused tour by snowmobile through Luleås snow-covered forests and over its frozen sea and lakes. This guided nature tour takes you to some of our most beautiful places with great views and opportunities to spot wildlife. Our nature guides will meet you by the lodge for a briefing about the days adventure. Safety instructions are given as well as background information regarding what we are about to experience. Our main focus being the regions nature, people and culture and the history of the area. We use modern snowmobiles as our transportation. This is the natural way for locals to move around the forest and over the frozen lakes as they go about their daily life. The nature guides will lead you along the established snowmobile trails so that you have an easy experience and we leave a minimal impact on our environment. We will stop regularly to take in the tranquillity of the arctic nature and our local guides will give you an insight into their way of life and visit some of their favorite places. Along the narrow trails stops are made for tea and coffee and the guide will tell you about the surroundings. Optional transfer for the 10am tour is available from and back to Luleå for an extra cost of 450sek per person. The half hour transfer departs Luleå at approx 0900 and returns to Luleå at approx 1500 daily. While at Brändön, before and/or after your snowmobile tour you have the option to explore the walking tracks on the frozen sea, buy lunch at the log cabin restaurant and/or hire snow shoes or cross country forest skis or perhaps even meet and feed the reindeer. A two-hour search for the northern lights where your nature guide will teach you about the fantastic natural phenomenon and the science behind it. In this activity you sit in a snowmobile drawn sled filled with reindeer pelts and warm blankets. Our guides drive the snowmobiles that are pulling the sleds as we search for the Northern Lights. We head out across the frozen sea and move from island to island. On the way we will stop regularly and the guides will inform you about the local nature (including sea, forest and wildlife) as well as their arctic lifestyle. We will also stop and learn to make a fire in the snow to boil tea, coffee or chocolate and nourished by a warm cake and wait for the Aurora. Enter the dark landscape illuminated only by the white snow, moon and the stars! This is the best of two worlds. Hunting for the northern lights during an exciting snowmobile adventure. Snowmobiling is the best way to travel in the snow-covered landscape of Swedish Lapland. You don’t need to head far out onto the sea ice or into the forest to experience the feeling of the Arctic night. This Northern Lights snowmobile tour takes you to some of the best viewing locations around our Lodge. You share a snowmobile, or drive your own through the dark winter landscape, following your guide. The guide will frequently make short stops to tell you about the Northern Lights as a phenomenon, how it occurs, and for you to watch and have time to take your own pictures. Winter life in Swedish Lapland is made comfortable by learning how to dress, behave and enjoy nature in the cold Subarctic climate. We change into warm outdoor clothing and go outside to strap on your snowshoes. Our guides will take you on a 3-hour journey into the forests near the lodge and lead you through an adventurous and educational excursion. You will learn how use the snowshoes, make a fire in the snow and how to make tea and coffee over your open fire. During the excursion, your guide will convey stories about their arctic life and you will learn about the forest, sea and wildlife of Sweden’s northernmost region. At lunchtime, you will take a break in a traditional Sami teepee, where together we will make a typical outdoor wilderness lunch. Here, on the reindeer pelts, you will enjoy your meal around the fire and then relax. In Swedish Lapland it is important to relax, discuss, enjoy and appreciate our special environment. Treat yourself to the luxury of arriving at an already warm sauna. Meet your ice bath instructor and be guided through the activity. Enjoy a conveniently-located sauna in the center of the city, just 10 minutes walk from the main street hotels. There is room for six persons in the sauna, and also have a large tent for changing when gathering bigger groups of ice swimmers. The pool is 3 x 5 meters and the depth varies from 50 cm to around 150 cm depending on the sea water levels. Get down into the water either by sitting on the edge of the pool and stepping down, or using one of the ladders. Start by sitting in the sauna for a while, which will already be heated. In the sauna, converse with the other winter swimmers and get advice from your instructor. After the bath, enjoy warm beverages and receive a certificate with the confirmed time of your ice bath.

An experienced instructor/guide shows the basics and you get to learn how the sled works, how to harness and connect the dogs to the team. When the dogs are leashed, it's time to drive away. The guide drives first and shows the way through the forest. Follow existing snowmobile trails that go through forests and fields. During the entire tour, the guide keeps an eye on you and the surroundings for your safety. Stop to rest the dogs and change drivers, at the same time there is an opportunity to take pictures. When you return from the trip, harness the dogs and take them into the kennels. Then, enjoy a coffee in the grill hut.

When autumn is in it´s color full mood, then our training season begins. Come and experiens the feeling with a husky team of 12 pulling a quad. We are helped to tie the dogs in the harness and then we go on a forest tour. Afterwards there is time to get to know some of our dogs in our large dog yard. We offer sausages and hot drinks in the barbecue hut.
