Los Volcanes Natural Park

We carry out a very informative hike route in which you will be able to discover the amazing world of volcanoes when you walk across lava flows or ascend to volcanic cones where it’s posible to find spectacular craters, lava tunnels, lava lakes, etc. Los Volcanes Nature Park is a protected area which represent the recient and historical volcanism of Lanzarote as it is covered by the eruptions that took place in 1730-36 and 1824. All the volcanic structures are well conserved because due to the arid climate of Lanzarote the evolution of vegetation is very slow therefore the landscape we find it is like a huge open-air museum of volcanology. Also it will be posible to understand how is the slow but constant rebirth of life upon the lava. This hike will help you to understand how was our planet millions of years ago and how work its inner forces and, at the same time, marvel with a landscape of another world.

If you love sunsets, especially in an idyllic setting such as the Protected Landscape of La Geria and the Los Volcanes Natural Park in Lanzarote, this is the experience for you. We will take a beautiful sunset walk through the vineyard at the foot of the 'Testeina' volcano. On this guided visit, you will learn about the particularities and history of vine cultivation in Lanzarote, its varieties and characteristics, and discover how the art of turning grapes into wine was practiced in the 19th century. We will also discover the before and after of the Timanfaya volcanic eruptions (1730-1736), the resurgence of viticulture on the island, the historical and ethnographic values linked to the important culture of water, and the history hidden behind the walls of the stately home and farmhouse of Testeina. The first documented references to this emblematic house appear in the 16th century, thanks to the historian and writer of the Canarian Enlightenment, Viera y Clavijo. To round off the experience, we will enjoy a guided tasting of two of the best wines from Bodegas Vega de Yuco. The wine tasting will be paired with chocolate bonbons made by an artisan chocolate maker on the island.
