We did this yesterday, May 1 and we missed out on a lot of the tulips by a week or less we were told. So if you can go a few days earlier than we did, you’d have better luck. But we did get to see some awesome fields and had a wonderful time! The trade-off may be that we may have also missed a lot of traffic and crowds. The little car is very easy to maneuver and the GPS and audio guide are excellent. Highly recommend! Definitely must stop at the one retail outfit the audio Guide recommends about halfway through. Wonderful to relax with a cold drink at an outside table, looking at the tulips and other flowers, and purchased a few souvenirs.

Experience the enchanting and iconic tulip fields at their purest. You will enjoy a drive-it-yourself trip through the famous flower bulb region, taking in the colors and smells, and stopping as often as you want for a selfie among the tulip and flower fields.

Drive in a sturdy open-cab Twizy over a 20-kilometer route past the colorful tulip and flower fields. The road will lead you through the famous flower bulb region and to an authentic flower bulb nursery. Throughout your tour, your audio guide will inform you of all the ins and outs of the area, whilst also sharing interesting facts about the tulip industry,
Cruise down country roads along the flowering tulips and park your Twizy beside the road to admire the sea of flowers up close. Driving a Renault Twizy is super easy and fun, and on the road, you will be sure to attract a lot of attention.

For kids ages 4 - 16yrs, there is a challenging treasure hunt, will they crack the code of the safe and win a cool prize?

Meeting point

The tour starting point is 850 meters from Flowerpark Keukenhof, and is easily reached by car or public transport from Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, or Leiden en Den Haag. Look for Renzy signage on the outside of the building. Please arrive at the meeting point 30-minutes before the GPS audio tour starts in order to check-in and receive all the instructions from the staff. Please don't use Google Maps walking mode, but use bicycle mode to get to the meeting point from Keukenhof Flowerpark, because otherwise you will ou take a detour and it will take you 45 minutes.

Know before you go

  • The activity is not located at Flowerpark Keukenhof itself and does not give you access to the park. This tour will show you the tulip and flower fields surrounding the Keukenhof Flowerpark, an area also known as the Flower Bulb Region
  • Pricing per person with a minimum of 2 persons. The vehicles are 2-seaters, so please book the correct number of persons and drivers for this tour
  • Drivers must be 21 years and older and have held a driver's license for at least 3 years
  • If you are not from Europe, North America, South America or Australia, please bring an international driver's license if you do not have a driver's license in English writing
  • A deposit of €150 is required before you can start your GPS tour (payable with a credit card or bankcard); you are liable for up to €500 per vehicle
  • The best time to visit the tulip fields is from the mid April to early May, but it cannot be 100% known when the tulips will be in bloom
  • This tour will take place rain or shine
