Visit the Ron Barcelo Rum Factory where you can see the live production process, learn about its history, and taste excellent products. Enjoy a unique experience provided by an eco-friendly company that is characterized by making premium quality rums. First, see the whole production process where you visit the aging cellar so you can appreciate the evaporation process, then the barrel workshop where it is prepared scraping and burning before aging, then the bottling and packaging process. Finally, go to the visitor center, see the museum which details the history of rum, and find the tasting bar and souvenir shop. Alternatively, pick the Imperial option and enjoy a tasting inside the Aging Cellar. This is a 90-minute tour that gives you access to a premium rum - The Barcelo Imperial Rum. A vehicle will be ready for you at the taxi area near the exit of the cruise terminal, where everyone from your cruise will gather. After that, we'll navigate through mangroves, passing by thriving Palétuvier trees. When we arrive at Saona Island, we'll visit Mano Juan village, seeing local life among colorful houses and small shops. We'll also stop by a turtle nursery run by locals, which shows their conservation efforts, although we might not see newborns due to seasonal changes. For lunch, you can taste Dominican cuisine while enjoying stunning views of Saona Beach. During lobster season (July 1st - February 29th), it's available for $25 per person. Later, we'll head to Canto de la Playa, a beautiful beach perfect for relaxing or snorkeling. Our final stop is a natural pool where you can see large starfish (please avoid touching them). Guests can swim in the shallow waters and enjoy refreshing drinks, ending the journey with unforgettable memories when we return to Bayahibe port. The tour ends in Bayahibe, where your transport will be waiting to take you back to La Romana port.

Transportation is included in the excursion price. From Bayahibe we start along the coast of the National Park of the East and pass El Peñon, an area that was once inhabited by the Taíno. Our first stop is the charming fishing village of Mano Juan, with no cars and only 300 inhabitants. Explore the village and learn more about the life of the locals. You will also visit the sea turtle project, which aims to promote the survival of hatchlings. After a cool drink under the palm trees, continue to Canto de la Playa, the most remote corner of the island of Saona. Enjoy the untouched nature and crystal-clear water, where you can snorkel or simply enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. The next stop is Catuano beach, where a traditional Dominican barbecue lunch awaits you. After your meal, relax in one of the hammocks or take a refreshing dip in the sea. We then explore the mangroves, a protected area in the National Park of the East. Learn more about the importance of mangroves for our ecosystem and look out for sea turtles in their natural habitat. As the mangroves are located within the national park and are protected, we are not allowed to drive into them. We drive past them and stop near the outer mangroves. Our last stop is the enchanting Piscina Natural, a sandbank in the middle of the sea. Snorkel with the large cushion starfish or simply enjoy a drink in the waist-deep, warm water. Now it's time for the return journey and you'll arrive back at our office, where your transportation will be waiting for you.
