Where do I begin? Our trip was incredible from start to finish! Our guide Alicja picked us up from our hotel at 6am exactly as detailed the previous day. My mom uses a wheelchair and she couldn’t do even for us. She wouldn’t even let me help her lift the wheelchair into chair. She had snacks and water waiting for us as we hadn’t had chance to have breakfast with it being an early start. The drive takes around one and a half hours and on the way she described exactly what would happen on the day and also gave us some history about not only auschwitz but Poland itself. Once there she handed us over to our private guide who was also very knowledgeable and compassionate. When we had finished the tour our guide was waiting for us at the end and we had some lunch and she then drove us the short distance to Birkenau. Once again our tour guide met us and took us around. Although a truly heartbreaking day I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour. This should never be forgotten.

Full description

Choose a private guide or shared tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau always with hotel pickup and drop off round-trip private or shared transfers from your place in Kraków with on-board introduction about visited place. Special assist of our driver, who is also a local guide makes this day special.
1. Departure: Begin with a pickup from your hotel, apartment or other place you choose (like: airport or train station) in Krakow.
2. Journey: Travel to Auschwitz-Birkenau in a luxury car (70 km, approximately 1.5 hours drive). If you booked shared tour you can be collecting with other people in the car (max 7 persons). If you booked private tour the car with driver is only for you. Your driver is also an experienced, caring and passionate local guide, so you'll be in good hands.
3. Visit at Auschwitz Upon arrival, we'll take you to the main building of the Museum, where after a mandatory inspection (similar to the one at the airport) you'll meet your guide and join to group tour (depends of season maximum group size is 30 people) or visit this place with your private guide if you choose a private tour. At this point, we will separate ourselves for about 3.5 hours and you will be under the care of the official educator from the Museum. With a guide at your side, you will visit Auschwitz I – which is a Museum now and Auschwitz II - Birkenau - death camp. Distance between both places is about 3 km. There is internal bus which takes all your group with a guide from Auschwitz to Birkenau.
4. When you finish you'll back with the same bus, where your driver will wait for you. It is also possible to be taken there by your driver.
5. Back to Krakow When you'll be ready your driver will take you back to Krakow to your accommodation place or other place you choose.
