The whole experience was truly interesting and inspiring. As a passionate for both Japanese culture and gastronomy, I couldnt help but taking part to this experience. I visited three of the most important saké breweries of Japan, namely Kikumasamune, Hamafukutsuru and Hakutsuru, and got to know the whole process of brewing, the cultural implications and also managed to see some artisans at work. In addition, in every distillery I was offered some tasting samples by the organizing company, for which I’m really thankful. Also, my guide Chiyuki-san was superb: she gave me some insights about the area, the historical heritage of saké, the various technicalities of saké brewing and much more. We spoke only Japanese, and in those cases in which I didn’t completely understand, she was so kind to rephrase it or even explaining in English. Such a lovely person, and a wonderful guide. I’m more than happy to suggest this experience to whoever is interested in saké brewing.
This was an amazing tour, and Hugo was a fantastic tour guide. He showed us Osaka, old and new. We learned about the history of medieval Osaka while touring around Osaka castle, and then learned about modern (19th, 20th, and 21st century) Osaka and Japan while taking the metro and walking around several districts of the city. Hugo even helped us plan our next days, he was so friendly and helpful!
We loved our guide, he was very thorough and took us to all the brilliant sites confirmed on the description of the tour. He was incredibly enthusiastic and held the conversation throughout our walk as we peppered him with questions. He came across as very well informed and well prepared for the tour, but also of Japan in general. Highly recommended!
All of the locations we went to in Nara and Kyoto were fantastic. Steven was great and even walked us right up to and around the locations that he could. He gave us a great lunch restaurant recommendation. He also took some photos for us so that all of us were able to be in the photos.
easy and fun. guide does leave to to go at your own pace honestly wouldn't have been able to see and experience everything using public transport.
