The excursion (walk to the Materuni waterfall) is a nice alternative for anyone who doesn't want to climb Kilimanjaro and is highly recommended. The guide (Aron) told us a lot about the country and its people on the way there and expanded this to include flora and fauna during the hike. He was courteous and made sure that you felt comfortable and safe (the route doesn't require any fitness, but was adventurous in places because it had rained the day before). The nature and the waterfall are breathtaking. A must for every nature lover. And it's amazing what you see along the way (from fruit trees to lizards to gravestones (there are no cemeteries in this region)). The view of the rainforest and small streams round off the experience. I can recommend the provider without reservation, especially the communication beforehand was excellent. Inquiries via email were always answered quickly, friendly and competently.

Great short hike, we were completely alone on the way there and had such a jungle feeling and then bathing in the waterfall at the end of the path was really great. Guides told me a lot about nature. Got the tour for the normal price even though I was the only guest. 😀
