Kemi-Tornio: Auroras / Northern Lights

We pick you up from Kemi and Haparanda-Tornio hotels/stations and drive 15-30 min to suitable Aurora station. We check the sky, moon, stars and Auroras when they occur. The professional guide will teach you the basics of Aurora hunting via apps in Northern regions. You get also insights to the history of Kemi and Sea Lapland region. Possibility for photoshootings. Past years 2021 - 2024 we have reached the level that over 90% of our Hunt and Chase groups catch the Auroras during their visit in Lapland. Our unique expertise is based on persistent research of the Auroras and the apps predicting the occurrence of Northern Lights in specific regions. We also finetune the starting times and even recommend our customers to cancel with full refund those Hunts and Chases when the chances are too low for catching the Greens. Please note that the Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights are natural phenomenon and therefore sighting cannot be guaranteed. We have over 20 Aurora stations and visual control over Sea Lapland so we can drive there where the open sky is available. Our main product is The Hunt where you scan the sky in one Aurora station. On The Chase we drive the Auroras even whole night if there is still chances of seeing them. We communicate on Hunts and Chases via WhatsApp. Ask availability. Happy Hunting!

Ii: Snowmobile sleigh trip on frozen sea under starlit sky

Ii: Snowmobile sleigh trip on frozen sea under starlit sky

One of the most stunning phenomena of winter nature is the Northern Lights dancing in the northern skies. Seeing the Northern Lights and the bright starry sky in cities and near roads is increasingly difficult due to light pollution. In the Baltic Sea off Ii, there are fewer light sources, so on a clear evening or night, you can observe a truly interesting sky. From around the turn of the year until the beginning of February, the excursion can start in the evening at around 18.00, later in spring the departure is around 20.00. Best time to start the trip is around sunset. The excursion will be tailored to you and your group, so you can enjoy the natural surroundings and the atmosphere created by the darkness in complete tranquillity. The excursion proceeds by snowmobile and sleigh to an area suitable, where we can admire the sea and the nearby islands in the sunset light. We'll build a fire in the mobile fire pit so you can stay warm and roast a picnic lunch if you wish. Searching for Northern Lights requires stopping for a moment, so there's no rush to get anywhere. You'll need to be careful though, as once the fires appear in the sky they can fade very quickly. Remember that even on a clear night, the Northern Lights will not appear every time. On the other hand, when sky activity is high, it can be cloudy. So we also need luck. If the ice conditions don't allow sledging, we can make the trip on foot. The location will be chosen according to the snow conditions. In case of bad ice conditions, the excursion will be cancelled or modified. If the ice conditions are bad, the excursion will be cancelled or postponed or cancelled. Please dress very warmly for the excursion, wearing layers and windproof clothing. Wear a few pair of socks. The product is available for sale by prior arrangement for any day and time during the dark season. Available depending on ice conditions from December to April and in the autumn season from October to December on foot at a different price. The starting point is in Ii, either at Pauhu in Northern Ii, on Partalahdentie, where there is a car park, or at the marina in Ii Alaranta, where there is also a car park. Iisland cottage customers will be picked up from the cottage yard. Difficulty: light, easy, but conditions can be very cold at times.

This was a very different and unique experience, a must try for everyone once. The activity was very well managed and the ice floating was amazing but a bit crowded but it’s understandable everyone wants to experience the same. Food was also good. A great day.

Fantastic experience! The bus left on time. Very comfortable bus. The only negative point is that after the white boat tour we had to wait from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the tourist center to catch our bus back to Rovaniemi.

Most unusual excursion! It's impressive to be on an icebreaker. The organization was very good. Too bad you can only float on the water for 10 minutes!
