Worth the long drive (8 hour round trip) to see such beautiful and unusual scenery and sights. Maria’s commentary was humorous, personal and gave great insights into the history and current situations of the monasteries. Bus had WiFi and onboard chargers which was super-helpful for such a long trip. Would have been nice to have Maria with us in the monasteries as well but we had been given access to the audio guides although not sure there would have been time for this. Arrived back in Athens at about 10pm so don’t plan anything else for your evening!
