I will recommend this tour to anyone that asks me about activities in Scotland. This was the BEST decision that my sister and I made for our entire trip. Our tour guide, Allan, was AMAZING. He stopped off at multiple stops along the way to give us an opportunity to get off the bus, enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and we still were able to fit everything in. He was willing to spend more or less time at places, depending on our group's desires. He was also hilarious and knowledgeable about all stops we made. I had an absolutely wonderful time, got to explore so much that I would not have otherwise been able to explore, and now have many wonderful photographs and memories.

Full description

Experience the Scottish Highlands on a small-group tour from Inverness. Visit the Isle of Skye, Dunvegan Castle, The Fairy Pools, and many more highlights on a tour escorted by a driver guide.


Depart from Inverness and journey towards the Isle of Skye. Stop at Achnasheen for a quick break. Head to Loch Carron for a quick photo stop and then take a short break at Kyle of Lochalsh.


Head to the 13th-century Dunvegan Castle, operated by the same family for over 800 years. Explore the castle or head into Dunvegan village to grab some lunch and explore the village. Then, it’s off to the imposing and dramatic Quiraing Mountain Range.


See 3 more of Skye’s most iconic landmarks, Kilt Rock, Lealt Falls, and the Old Man of Storr, and head to Portree for an overnight stay.

Enjoy breakfast in the morning and head to one of the most magical places in Scotland, the Fairy Pools. Stop at Sligachan and Sconser and head to Broadford to enjoy lunch. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including otters, seals, and even killer whales.

Visit Eilean Donan, situated on its own island at the head of Loch Duich. Return to Inverness via the scenic town of Fort Augustus at the foot of Loch Ness. Enjoy views of the massive loch, home to Nessie, before arriving back at the meeting point in the evening.

  • Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated provided that the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them board and disembarking

The entire tour exceeded our expectations. We didn’t want to self guide on this experience. We didn’t want to miss something important and didn’t want the stress of having to plan all the logistics. We visited all the important Isle of Skye places and had plenty of time at each location. The Fairy Pools was our favorite place. Our driver/guide was Marita and she was the BEST. She was easy to understand, gave details we never would have learned through self-education, and kept us informed about places we visited, how much time we had, when to return to the van, etc. We always knew what to expect every time we stopped. She also knew the best time to visit and gave suggestions on how to best approach them, such as “eat first, then visit the castle,” because she knew the big buses would come soon. Little things like that make a big difference in our experience. We highly recommend Timberbush Tours and the 2-day Isle of Skye/Fairy Pools tour specially.
