Everything was really awesome! We had no luck with Ijen, it was closed because of an eruption, but we where in north of Bali instead and was really nice! All the giudes of the attractions where super nice and well prepared. Our driver Sigit was very friendly and kind, we really enjoyed his company. He did a few interesting stops on the way that made our trip even more and more interesting. We absolutely recommend!

Full description

Itinerary: Private tour
Day 1 : Surabaya,Malang - Tumpak Sewu Waterfall - Cemoro Lawang
Pick up at Surabaya at 05.00 a.m, Pick up at Malang at 06:00 a.m.
By private car drive to Tumpak sewu, spend 3 hours explore Tumpak sewu and Tetes cave waterfalls, By car drive to Cemoro lawang, overnight at Lava view Lodge, Joglo Kecombrang, Cafe Lava, Bromo Permai hotel, similar-Depending on availability

Day 2 : Bromo Sunrise tour - Ijen area
Depart at 03:00am meet our guide, by Jeep to View point, enjoy sunrise and scenery, by 4WD to mount bromo, the 4WD will stop at parking lot, then walk to mount bromo crater around 1.5 km, explore the crater, after that back to the accommodation for have a breakfast. At 09.00am checkout, then 7 hours drive to Banyuwangi, overnight at Grand harvest resort villas, Ijen Teras hotel villa or Ketapang indah hotel or similar (Depending on availability)

Day 3 : Ijen Tour - Drop off Bali
Pick up at 01.00am from the hotel then 30 minutes drive to Paltuding, the entrance of mt ijen. You will need about 1.5 hours to reach the top of mount Ijen and down to the crater about 700 meters for see amazing blue fire, then walk back to paltuding parking lot, by car back to the accommodation for have a breakfast.
At 09:30am checkout then drive to Ketapang ferry port, by boat to Gilimanuk port in Bali, meet our drive in Bali then by private car transfer out to your accommodation in Bali.

Know before you go

  • Ijen will closed on friday of 1st week, every month.
  • This tour involves a moderate level of fitness is required.
  • From the parking lot, you will walk about 500 meters to get to Panorama Tumpak Sewu, then go to the bottom of the waterfall, a small path then down the stairs and along the river, about 1 kilometer.
  • we can't guarantee that the sunrise at Bromo will be spectacular, because the weather and natural conditions can't be predicted
  • Ijen usually, during the wet season the volcanic activity near the crack of volcano is rising. If this activity occurs then authorities will close the trail going to the Blue flame, if the volcanic activities turn the toxicity of gas into a level of danger, then the authorities will close the entire site for safety reasons. Visiting Ijen, blue flame means you need to be ready for nature’s unpredictability and no guaranteed.

We had an amazing 3 days. Our driver, Iqbaal, was very friendly and so prompt. Everything was so well organised and ran smoothly. Tumpak Sewu waterfall was beautiful, the view of Bromo, Batok and Semeru was stunning, but Ijen was definitely the highlight for me. The sunrise, aqua blue of Ijen, and the surrounding landscape was incredible. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Iqbaal for looking after us.
