Our journey into the wine country will take us past some of cape Town and South Africa's most well known townships. The first one Langa, is the oldest township in south Africa dated back from 1823. Compared to other squatter like townships of South Africa, Langa is well developed and has seen a local economy here grow from strength to strength over the years. Some of the new notable Industries here includes ceramic manufacturing, Traditional South African Bistros as well as filming. With a history going back to 1797, the estate and its legacy have been passed on to its current owner Duncan Spence who has been ownership of the estate since 2000. Duration: 1 hour Stop At: Groot Drakenstein Prison. Drakenstein formely known as Victor Verster. This prison was home to our late Nelson Mandela for the last fourteen months of his long political imprisonment. He had a personal chef and a view of the Breathtaking Drakenstein Mountains.
