What a great trip, packed with plenty of activities and insights into the Vietnamese culture! On the first day, Jack (our guide) took us around the local village providing an insight into daily life as a Mekong farmer. After that we had a Vietnamese cooking class, where some had more success than others (but it was fun nonetheless). Following that we visited another village on the Mekong and tried some local delicacies. I chose to do the 2 day tour, and I’m so glad that I did. We stayed at a beautiful family run homestay that is situated in a functioning micro-farm, full of delicious fruits and fish ponds which are used to make all your meals (so the food can’t be any fresher). On the 2nd day you wake up early for a sunrise bike tour and then test your fishing skills to capture your groups lunch. Overall , I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend to anyone as the staff are so friendly and all the activities are thoroughly enjoyable!

I absolutely loved this trip with my guide Milo on day 1 and the homestay team (Kenny was a super guide!). The included activities were brilliant, I really enjoyed the sunrise cycle ride with a stop for coffee and breakfast in the local market. An afternoon spent with Kenny, learning how to plant rice and catch cat fish with my hands.. not easy to master, but fun to try!! I would highly recommend this experience as an overnight trip to visit the Mekong Delta and enjoy a local homestay experience from Saigon. many thanks 😊

Full description

Explore the Mekong Delta while meeting locals on an overnight trip from Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy an active adventure with kayaking, bike riding, boat ride and cooking class included during your 2 day tour.

7:40–8:20am: Guide and driver pick you up at your hotel and on the journey to Bến Lức - My Tho.
9:30am: Check in Family Tiny Garden homestay. Explore the village by bike, visit orchards growing dragon fruit and see beautiful rice fields
10:50am: Join a cooking class to guide you how to make spring rolls, pancakes, and Vietnamese dishes.
11:40am: Enjoy BBQ Vietnam food for lunch.
1:30pm: Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, the largest ancient temple in the Mekong Delta. Take a leisurely boat ride on the Tien River to enjoy fresh air and see the peaceful life of the local people.
Enjoy Vietnamese traditional music (Đàn Ca Tài Tử - folk art form from Southern Vietnam accredited by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity).
Relax on a hand – rowed sampan along small canals.
Visit the bee farm and enjoy honey tea.
Boat ride to visit the largest coconut candy factory in Mekong delta.
3:30pm: Bus will take you back to Family Tiny Garden Homestay.
6:30pm: Dinner (Barbecue) and karaoke with overnight homestay.

Day 02: Explore the countryside by bicycle, watching rice fields, fruit gardens
5:30am: Early start to ride bicycles and watch the sunrise over the rice fields and after breakfast, explore the countryside by bicycle to visit orchards, dragon fruit, grapefruit, oranges, guava and rice fields.
Visit local market and enjoy coffee.
8:30am: Kayaking adventure through a maze of waterways. More activities transplanting rice and Catching fish.
11:50am: Lunch at the restaurant.
12:30pm: Check out and board the bus back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 2:30pm
