Our guide Yama san is a friendly and thoughtful person. Our journey started at time of booking. Yama san sent me an email to discuss and proposed an ideal itinerary. Even though the local weather is not ideal for tourists (raining and cold) on the day, Yama san showed us around Himeji castle with lots of passion and at good speed. In the beginning, I was a bit hesitant to visit Kokoen garden because of the weather. I am so glad that Yama san strongly recommended us to get a combo ticket (for both Himeji and Kokoen). It turned out we love Kokoen a lot as it’s a unique and well-designed Japanese garden. After visiting Himeji castle and Kokoen, Yama san even took us to his secret spot to overlook Himeji castle which the view is stunning. Once he knew we want to try some local food after the tour, he took us to the food court near train station to try Eki-soba and takoyaki. He even placed orders for us! Overall, we really enjoyed it and glad we signed up for a guided tour!
This was a spectacular experience! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We were able to learn about behind the scenes information, including how the site was used for filming. We are incredibly happy that we did this tour, we recommend this to anyone who is interested in the history, architecture, or art of this amazing historical site!
The tour was great! Learned a lot about himeji. Gerard was very helpful with all our queries and was fun to be with. There was not a dull moment with him and little fun facts along the way was such a treat. The tour was a value for money and would recommend it again.

easy and fun. guide does leave to to go at your own pace honestly wouldn't have been able to see and experience everything using public transport.
