It was great overall. Nilton helped in keeping the pace and gave us an overview of what the plan would look like. Even after reaching the hot spring area, he gave us an option of either sticking to that spot or hiking solo to the next similar hot spring area if you need space from the group. He was friendly and managed to keep me (the only English speaker in the group in that hot spring) entertained while engaging others too. The trek is not a long one. 30 minutes each way. Enough to give a slice of Atacama hiking experience. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a short hike and a relaxing natural pool time.
Thank you Javier for a great afternoon hike and relaxing time in Guantín. The hike is beautiful and a refreshing change from other tours that are get on/ get off the bus! Our guide Javier communicated very well in English and knew how to accommodate everyone on the tour. We got lucky and only had one other couple with us - it felt like a private tour !
The tour starts with a short, picturesque hike through the Atacama Desert to the hot springs. The path is adventurous, but also very touristy. Here and there there is a short traffic jam, which somewhat spoils the experience. At the end we decide together on a spot to enter and swim. All in all, a recommended activity, something different :)
It was great and we have a lot of fun. The driver/tour guide told us a lot about the history as we drove toward the Piritama parks. We had an energizing time at the hot springs! Highly recommend
