Visit the Grampian Transport Museum, a seasonal attraction in the historic village of Alford, just 45 minutes from Aberdeen. Explore a wide range of transport exhibits, from traveling chariots of the 1800s to some of the fastest cars ever made. Enjoy a living museum that probes the past, present, and future. Many exhibits are climb aboard, hands-on, and even ride on. The exhibits are updated every year during the closed season, providing a wide range of new and exciting things to see each year. Bring your dog to the museum and let them join you as you walk around. Freshwater bowls are placed outside each day, and your dog can even join you as you walk around the museum. All that is asked is that they remain well-behaved and on their lead at all times. Take part in fun quizzes and trails for younger visitors to enjoy inside the museum. Outside, the front lawn, complete with a distinctive red phone box and Birkhall Steam Engine, is a great place to enjoy a picnic. Bring a blanket or your own folding chairs.
