I did like a different perspective or different angle you can explore the glen from ;-) It would be nice to have a guide who would provide you with some information on surroundings. However also "self-exploring" was nice ;-)

Full description

Rentals are for those who have been kayaking before and they are fully unsupervised. If you haven't kayaked before you'll need a guided tour that is bookable on our website ruggedcoast.scot

Want to go on your own adventure? We’ve got everything you need for a self guided trip. Our hire sessions last 2 hours which is enough time to explore the islands and to chill (or splash) out! We want everyone to have the best experience on the water so our team will share some top tips on the best spots to paddle that day.

What will I see?

What do I need to know?

Unsupervised, for those with prior experience only
Children (under 18) must be accompanied by adult (1 adult for every 2 children min)
Wear you swim gear under clothing for easy change
Bring a towel and warm clothes for after
Bring suncream, water and snack
Single kayak max weight 110kg
Tandem kayak max weight 180kg

  • All participants must complete the Risk Acknowledgement and Disclaimer before the activity commences.
  • Paddleboarding/kayaking requires a certain amount of co-ordination and strength if you think you have a medical condition that might be effected by the activity you must seek medical consultation first.
  • All participants are advised to arrive 10 minutes prior to the session commencing. Late arrivals will not be accommodated for and no refunds will be provided in the instance.
  • Rugged Coast will endeavour to commence activity at set timing but sometimes this will be late. If commencing late the activity will run for the set duration and thus may finish late.
  • If for any reason we have to cancel a full or partial session due to any reason we will provide you a full refund or partial refund if we have completed half the session.
  • Due to the nature of the weather and conditions sessions may be cancelled at short notice or even after commencing.

Really enjoyable, beautiful scenery, small islands to explore, equipment supplied was of good quality, facilities were clean and staff were super friendly and helpful!
