Full description

By using bicycles, both standard and E bike, we can start in the city centre and ride to the farther reaches of Scotlands largest city. Utilising its excellent network of bike lanes and quiet roads we can travel through gorgeous green spaces, stunning vistas, architectural wonders and, indeed, time itself.

Starting in the heart of the city at George Square we will travel an 11 mile/18km loop visiting a myriad of interesting locations and finish right back where we started. We will visit well known highlights of the city as well as lesser known points of incredible interest and gain a deeper understanding of what makes Glasgow the wonderful and eclectic place it is today. We will discuss ancient folklore, local heroes, triumphs, tragedies, art, sport, invention and science. Getting to know each other as well as the city and country that surrounds us.

Highlights include: Glasgow University, Kelvingrove Museum & Park, The Glen Lee Tall Ship, The Finnieston Crane, Glasgow Green, The Peoples Palace, Glasgow Cathedral, The Necropolis, The River Kelvin, The Firth & Clyde Canal.

You will be provided with a well equipped, experienced, qualified guide (myself, Stuart), the bike of your choice, either E Bike or standard and in the size that is most comfortable to you. Helmets will also be provided for your added safety. I will also take photographs, if you wish, which can be shared with you at the end so you will have a souvenir of your wonderful experience.

We will have the chance, should you wish, to visit a wonderful local cafe around the half way mark for some coffee, cake and other refreshments.

Includes

  • Guided bike tour of Glasgow, Qualified, Well Equipped and Experienced Guide, Standard and E-bike options available, Helmet, Local cafe stop for refreshments (cost not included)
  • Water for during the ride - We encourage bringing refillable water bottle to avoid single use plastic. Refill stations are available on the route.
  • I will have some packable rain jackets but I strongly advise bringing your own incase of rain.

Not suitable for

  • People who can't ride a bike

Meeting point

We will meet at St Enoch Square slightly south of the Subway station entrance.

This tour covered so much actual ground! We saw all the different faces of Glasgow in one day. The speed was perfect, and we got some very much missed exercise. Stuart was very pleasant and accommodating, pointing out a lot of interesting things and he always had a good answer for our questions. The bikes were excellent.

Thank you Allison for your lovely review, it really was a pleasure to meet you both and spend the afternoon with you. Sorry I couldn't quite make it a 5 star experience for you but I always endeavour to improve. I know you visit Scotland quite often so I hope to see you on another adventure soon! Safe travels!

Stuart was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable of Glasgow and Scotland on a whole. He was excellent about making sure I was safe everywhere we rode with hand signals and prompts about any natural obstructions on the paths. I got to learn about some of Glasgows historic buildings as well as ride through the park along a beautiful body of water. We were able to stop at a quaint little coffee shop for a little pick me up. He was also a great photographer and made sure I had memories to last a lifetime. Bonus the last stop he told me about was a cool little pub with live music. I checked it out later that day and danced the night away. Highly recommended this tour for all interests and fitness levels. Such a unique way to experience a piece of Scotland!
