The vaulted cellars, built around 1720, retrace the work of the coopers and the maturing of wine in barrels in the tradition of the wine merchants of the 19th century. With an included paper guide, you’ll get to go on a self-guided walk through two cellars. At the end of your visit, you can attend a presentation on the Bordeaux vineyards and learn about the notions of grape varieties, appellations d'origine contrôlée, terroir, and more. Great way to get acquainted with Bordeaux and learn about the city's history. The tour took about an hour and a half and our guide was excellent. She gave her comments in French and English and she was thoroughly knowlegeable. We truly enjoyed her and the entire tour! Well worth the price.
