Experience Rottnest Island at your leisure on a day trip with round-trip fast ferry transfers and bike hire from Fremantle. Admire the stunning views as you cycle across the island.


Depart from Fremantle and enjoy a scenic ferry ride to the island. Disembark at Rottnest Island and explore independently as you cycle from the jetty. Take in the views along secluded bays and beaches and breathe the fresh air as you cycle the 6.8 miles (11km) long by 2.5 miles (4km) wide island.


Visit the bays on the south to avoid the easterly winds and make your way to the Basin, Parakeet Bay, and Little Armstrong Bay on the southwest in the afternoon.

  • It takes approximately 3.5 hours to ride around the island and there is no drinking water or food available outside the Thomson Bay and Geordie Bay settlement areas
  • Ferry tickets valid for same-day return from a selected departure point
  • Bikes with baby seats can be requested, subject to availability
  • Hire a snorkel set for an additional $20, payable on the day
  • Children's bikes are suitable for children between the ages 4 -7, children aged 7 or older can usually use adult-sized bikes comfortably

Rottnest is a beautiful island with lots to see and do. Bike hire is great to get around. I’m not very fit but managed to get around ok, some of the hills were very steep but you just stop and take in the scenery. The quokkas were very cute. Had a nice lunch at one of the hotels. Some of the beaches were very busy- salmon bay was the nicest. I think $120 is a lot of money for a 30 min ferry ride however the island was beautiful and must be done while in Perth.
