This trip had been on my bucket list for over 20 years. Finally, I got to go with my daughter. Captain Jim was our guide, and he did a wonderful job of entertaining us with his knowledge. I am so glad we had you Jim as our captain you made it very special for us; one we will never forget. I hope we get to meet again, and you can inspire us some more!

Enjoy Sawgrass Recreation Park's diverse activities and take advantage of its exciting package while saving some dollars. Explore Florida's Everglades and see the park's numerous reptile exhibits to learn about the history of this remarkable treasure.

Available all season long, experience the spirit-renewing airboat tour and glide across the river to come face-to-face with the native wildlife, including alligators, turtles, snakes, frogs, and much more.

Explore the park's exhibit areas featuring over 50 reptiles that have been adopted and rescued. Take a walk on the wild side back in time when you meet an original dinosaur, the Florida Alligator. Make sure you bring your camera to capture the “Meet a Baby Alligator” experience.

Depending on the packet you choose, enjoy a $15 credit to grab a bite to eat at the Gator Grill, where you can enjoy mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese bites, fries, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and even some famous gator tacos.

Before leaving grab your photo souvenir keychain and your choice of a souvenir t-shirt or hat to bring back home a memory you will never forget.

Type into your GPS, "SAWGRASS RECREATION PARK" instead of typing the address. Sawgrass Recreation Park is located at 1006 N. U.S. Highway 27 Weston, Florida 33327. The park is located west of Fort Lauderdale on Highway 27, 2 miles north of Interstate 75 on the east side of the road.

Know before you go

  • Tour is suitable for children of all ages
  • Children are allowed on board the airboats, and children ages 3 and under are free
  • Children ages 6 and under are required by law to wear a life jacket. An appropriate size will be provided.
  • We have limited accessibility for guests who are handicapped. The boats are not wheelchair accessible, but our exhibits are. If you are able to comfortably take a step down into our boats or have a family member help you into and out of the boat, you will be able to enjoy the boat ride. Upon check-in, please let our clerks know that you will need additional time to board the boat and we will be sure to let the captain know so you will be escorted to the front of the line and given time to get comfortable. If you are apprehensive about having to get into the boat comfortably, you can still enjoy our animal exhibits! The exhibit area is a gravel walkway. We have a wheelchair we can lend you at no cost for the exhibit area.

Excellent, knowledgeable guide, well-trained, excellent communication. We saw about 8 alligators in the wild (even one scarfing down a fish), herons and many other birds, iguanas in the trees, and all kind of fish. It was really fun when our guide opened up the airboat and we really had to hang on to our hats! On land displays and programs very interesting, too. Beware of fish crows thieving your food at the outdoor cafe, thought! Even if it's in your hand!

We had a great time at the Sawgrass Park! Great value for your money and a great first experience visiting the Florida Everglades! We loved also the reptile exhibit: the wildlife experts were extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of info! Highly recommended!
