This was one of the coolest experiences of my trip to Puerto Rico. I was picked up on time, and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and supportive. Since I was traveling alone and didn’t have a partner, the guide reassured me that there was nothing to worry about and that they would take care of it. I was soon partnered with another participant, and luckily, he was a very nice person. I ended up really enjoying the whole experience without feeling anxious. It was a full moon night, so I wasn’t able to see much of the bioluminescence, but I did catch glimpses of sparks in the water, which was still pretty cool. Beyond that, I loved kayaking under the full moon and stars, enjoying the solitude of the night. I’d say this is a must-do tour while in Puerto Rico!

Embark on a nighttime adventure into the waters of Laguna Grande and see millions of glowing plankton. Paddle on this guided evening tour. Make your way through mesmerizing mangrove channels and learn about the wonders of bioluminescence.

After getting picked up from your San Juan accommodation we will head to the town of Fajardo. After check-in, you will receive a quick overview and safety briefing from your guide before setting out. Then, paddle in a two-person kayak through the mangrove channels leading to the natural reserve of the Laguna Grande.

Then, see the microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand. Explore these amazing organisms up close as your professional guide takes you on a journey to discover all their secrets.
