Theresa (sorry if I spelt it wrong!) was friendly, clear and very knowledgeable about Hurculaneum demonstrating her passion about the lost city and archaeology full stop. Having a tour guide who not only knows their stuff, but is also clearly passionate about it, and enjoys discussing/showing/teaching others about the subject, really lifts a tour to being excellent. Theresa was also considerate of the varying abilities of the group, particularly considering it was a hot day - even by Italian standards! Group size was good, at around 15 I think. It would have been nice if there was an option to include transport from Naples - though I booked this quite late so it could have been an option that had filled up?
The site is amazing and honestly was richer and somewhat more interesting than Pompeii. So I’m so glad that we went to both. I wish I left enough time to do this site. Honestly, I think this site deserves 2 to 3 hours. Negative: Switching tickets is a pain and really dumb.
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable and was able to answer all the questions from the group. I would have felt a bit lost without the guide and would have missed out on a lot of information and stories. I highly recommend the tour!
