Explore mountain villages on this 2-day or 3-day tour from Kutaisi! You will be going off-road for part of the trip to one of Europe's highest continuously inhabited villages. Imagine, 200 people spending harsh winters at 2100m., totally isolated from the world. You'll go there by 4x4 vehicle on the picturesque mountain road, will hike to the Skhara Glacier near Ushguli village, and stay overnight in Mestia. You can choose from: 1. Private 3-day tour (you can choose start time between 7:30-9:00) ‼️ In case of heavy snowfall Ushguli might not be reachable. Itinerary: Day 1 Kutaisi - Ushguli - Lamaria church - Shkhara glacier - Mestia. In the morning Megobari Tours Georgia guide will pick you up at your Kutaisi hotel and you will start your beautiful trip to the mountains. You will go on the picturesque Kutaisi – Lentekhi – Ushguli road. Listen to the stories about Svaneti, a Georgian region that has best preserved ancient culture and language. At midday you will arrive at one of the highest villages in Europe, Ushguli at 2100 m. where a few hundred people live all year round. You will visit the 9th-century Lamaria church with views of the highest Georgian peak – Mt. Shkara 5193m. Afterwards, go to explore the Shkhara glacier, our guide will take you on a 4x4 vehicle part of the road and you will continue hiking part of the route, approx. 4 km and 1.5-2 hours both ways. It is optional to do this trip horseback riding. After the hike, take iconic photos of Ushguli village from the King Tamar castle viewpoint & take car to Mestia. Drop off at Mestia hotel. Day 2 Mestia - Hatsvali Lift - Mestia Museum - Enguri Dam - Kutaisi. The guide will meet you at the hotel and together you will wander in the old town of Mestia among Svan defense towers, if you dare, you can climb one of these. Take a Hatsvali ski lift from the center of Mestia town & enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Caucasian mountains range. After enjoying mountain views visit the Svaneti Museum of History, and explore impressive artifacts, that were hidden in Svaneti during the wars of Georgia. After lunch, you will leave Mestia and drive through the picturesque mountain road until Enguri Dam. In the evening you will head back to Kutaisi. Drop off at Kutaisi Hotel. If you will choose 3-day tour option, the itinerary will include additional hikes to the Schdugra waterfall (8km roundtrip) and Chaladi Glacier (5km roundtrip). Day 1 – Mestia. The tour begins at 07:00 from our office in Kutaisi. Our first stop will be the Enguri Water Dam. After visiting the dam, we will continue our journey to Mestia, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. We will make several stops to capture stunning photographs and enjoy the picturesque waterfalls and breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountain Range. We are expected to arrive in Mestia by 13:00. Our first activity will be a visit to Hatsvali Ski Resort, where a cable car takes guests from 1500 to 2300 meters in altitude. Here, visitors can enjoy skiing and various snow activities, all while taking in the magnificent views of Ushba (4700-4710m) and Tetnuldi (4850m). The tour concludes at 16:00 at Credo Bank, where you will spend the night in Mestia. Overnight in Mestia Day 2 – Ushguli On this day, we embark on an off-road tour to Ushguli, the highest settlement in Europe. We will begin our journey at 10:00 AM from Credo Bank, located at #38 Tamar Mefe Street, Mestia. Our first stop will be the Tower of Love, which tells the story of a forbidden romance. Following our visit, we will continue our off-roading adventure to Ushguli. Upon arrival, our vehicles will be parked in the center, allowing guests three hours to explore the ancient towers and churches that define this remarkable village. We will return to Mestia by 16:00, where we will switch vehicles and head back to Kutaisi for the night. Please note, if the road to Ushguli is closed due to snow, we will instead visit Tetnuldi Ski Resort. At 16:00, we bid farewell to Mestia, carrying memories of its enchanting allure. As our journey draws to a close, we embark on the return trip to Kutaisi, concluding our unforgettable tour. We'll return: arriving in the city till 21:00 with new impressions and new friends

After exploring the dam, we’ll head towards Mestia, stopping at a local restaurant for a delicious lunch along the way. We’ll also make several stops to snap some photos and take in the stunning waterfalls and incredible views of the Caucasus Mountain Range. By 13:00, we’ll arrive in Mestia. Our first stop here will be Hatsvali Ski Resort, where you can take a thrilling cable car ride from 1500 to 2300 meters. At the top, enjoy amazing views of the Ushba (4700-4710m) and Tetnuldi (4850m) mountains, and if you’re up for it, try some skiing or other snow activities! The tour wraps up at 16:00 at Credo Bank, where you’ll spend the night in Mestia. Day 2 – Ushguli Today, we’re off on an exciting off-road adventure to Ushguli, the highest settlement in Europe! We’ll kick things off at 10:00 AM from Credo Bank, located at #38 Tamar Mefe Street in Mestia. Our first stop will be the enchanting Tower of Love, which tells a captivating story of forbidden romance. Then, we’ll continue our off-roading journey to Ushguli. Once we arrive, our vehicles will be parked in the center, and you’ll have three hours to explore this historic settlement, filled with ancient towers and churches. We’ll head back to Mestia by 15:00, where we’ll switch vehicles and begin our journey back to Batumi, dropping you off at your hotels by 21:00. Day 1: From Tbilisi to Mestia Start with pickup from your hotel in Tbilisi. Travel across three regions of Georgia throughout the day with the first main stop will be at Enguri Dam Arrive in the Upper Svaneti region admire the wonderful mountain landscape. Make your way to Mestia and head to your hotel to check in, before exploring the town at your leisure in the evening. Overnight in Mestia Day 2: Mestia - Chalaadi Glacier On the second day, enjoy a guided hike to the Chalaadi Glacier, located about 12 kilometers from Mestia. Hike along the slopes of the Ushba and Chatini massif, through a mixed forest, and along the banks of the Chalaadi River, before reaching the glacier. On the way back to Mestia, stop at one of the characteristic Svan Towers of the region, before heading back to your accommodation. Overnight in Mestia Day 3: Mestia - Ushguli tour Depart Mestia in the morning by off-road car and visit the secluded town of Ushguli. Enjoy some time to explore this town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Overnight in Mestia Day 4: From Mestia to Tbilisi After breakfast, head back to Tbilisi. On the way, stop at the Prometheus Cave or Martvili Canyon, before being dropped off back at your hotel.
