We will travel to Cafayate city, the land of wines, located in the Calchaquí Valley, 180 km away from the capital of Salta, through one of the most impressive and renowned routes in the North of Argentina. We will depart from Salta city, touring the center and south of the Lerma Valley, to then enter the Las Conchas gorge's Natural Reserve. A low-altitude road takes us through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills, where the colors orange and red are the highlights. Here we will find geoforms carved by nature such as La Garganta del Diablo (The Devil's throat), El Amphitheatre (The Anfitheatre), The Windows, The Castles, La Yesera, The Toad, The Friar, The Obelisk, etc. In Cafayate you will have the chance to visit a winery, with tasting of the best wines in the area. After lunch, we return to Salta by the same route.

Depart Salta and head south along Provincial Route 68, offering panoramic views of the farms and tobacco plantations of the Lerma Valley. Admire the new and old tobacco chimneys made of adobe and clay, and see tobacco leaves being dried under the sun. Pass the town of Alemania and marvel at the red mountains and rock formations of attractions such as the "Devil´s Throat" and "House of the Parrots." Upon arrival in Cafayate, visit 1 or 2 wineries to learn more about the local wine industry and famous torrontes wines. Following lunch, journey back to Salta via a different route to see a completely different landscape from the morning drive.

After departing from central Salta, head south into the stunning, red-tinged lands of rock formations and towering cliffs. The trip begins south of the province, where you’ll soak up some local culture by visiting the historic villages of the Lerma Valley. Afterwards, head to the Quebrada de las Conchas, a canyon of curiously shaped rocks, eroded for centuries by water flow and strong winds. Marvel at the complex rock formations within the ravine, from the Devil’s Throat, to the Amphitheater, to The Castles, among many other spectacular displays. After a thorough exploration, head to Cafayate to visit a vineyard to taste some of the best wines that the region has to offer, including Torrontés. After the tasting, you’ll head back to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas.

Combo in Salta and Jujuy!! By booking this combo you'll do the tours of Cafayate, Cachi and Humahuaca. You'll need at least 3 available days since each tour lasts approximately 12 hours. You'll visit Humahuaca Gorge, Purmamarca and the 7-colors Hill, Tilcara, Las Conchas Gorge and a winery and La Cuesta del Obispo and Los Cardones National Park. Tour to the wine-growing center of the province, touring the Quebrada de las Conchas and separating the Lerma Valley from the Calchaquí Valley. Wind erosion has formed a succession of natural whims such as the Devil's Throat, a deep and closed canyon, or, El Anfiteatro,El Fraile, El Obelisco, Los Castillos. Little by little the aridity of the landscape is replaced by large expanses of vineyards until you reach one of the most notable regions within the Calchaquí Valleys: Cafayate, a town of one-story houses between colonial and baroque from the late 19th century. Going to Cachi, we will visit the Quebrada de Escoipe and the imposing Cuesta del Obispo. After visiting La Piedra del Molino, you will be passing through the Los Cardones National Park. The small and magical town of Cachi, located at the foot of the snow-capped mountain of the same name, is characterized by its colonial-style facades, with mansions located on the edge of narrow, cobblestone streets. We will be visiting a destination recognized as a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO), discovering incredible landscapes and monuments, towns and cultures. We will visit unique towns such as Purmamarca, famous for the Hill of the 7 Colors, Maimará with its Painter's Palettes, Tilcara stands out for its Pucará (high mountain fortress) whose ruins have been partially destroyed. The tour also visits Uquia and the ceramic factory and then the city of Humahuaca, whose town is the largest in the Quebrada 3 days to get to know both provinces with three full day tours!

The journey will commence in the morning with hotel transfers in Salta. We will traverse the Lerma Valley, passing through tobacco fields and villages with German colonial architecture, which used to be the final destination of the Belgrano Railway. We then enter the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas, where the wind and water eroded curious formations will be the main attraction: dunes, the toad, the bishop, the devil's throat, the castles, the amphitheater, among others. Subsequently, we continue on National Route 68, arriving in Cafayate, the youngest city in the Calchaquí Valleys, internationally recognized for the quality of its wines, particularly Torrontés, which can be sampled during a visit to a winery. The return to Salta follows the same route but with completely different sunlight, altering the landscape in the canyon entirely. The tour concludes with hotel drop-offs.
