The story of Duca di Salaparuta is a challenge born 200 years ago when Giuseppe Alliata, great Sicilian politician loved by the people for his avant-garde choices and great ingenuity, after the abolition of feudal privileges, he decided to dedicate himself to the management of his own vineyards in Casteldaccia. In 1824 he bottled a white and red wine, very different from the Sicilian wines of the time, inspired by the elegance of French wines. Thanks to its avant-garde approach and the courage to dare, Sicily wrote its first pages of modern enology and we those of our beginning.
