Doñana National Park

Depart Seville and travel through the nearby town of Coria del Rio on the banks of the River Guadalquivir. Go to the visitor center at Dehesa de Abajo, located in the northern area of the marshes of Doñana National Park. Admire the pine forests and pastures that provide home to approximately 200,000 different inhabitants, including 300 bird species such as flamingos and Spanish imperial eagles. Pass a rice field, known for Europe’s largest colony of storks. We will leave our facilities at the La Aldea campsite and head towards the Doñana Park. You will be able to see flora and fauna such as deer and various birds and the famous Iberian lynx. Enjoy a pleasant horse ride along the seashore, we will visit its dunes (with its spectacular viewpoints to the sea) and returning through the interior of the Natural Area of Doñana where you can observe closely the native fauna and flora Later, we will go to the Aldea El Rocío. El Rocio is the only town in Spain with sandy streets because the most common transport is the horse.We will pass by the hermitage and return to the starting point.

After less than an hour drive from Seville you will reach Doñana National Park, one of Europe’s largest and most important wetland reserves. This park has been declared a Biosphere Reserve and inscribed on the World Heritage List. Once there you will get into your 4WD vehicle to tour the National Park. Doñana offers a great variety of natural ecosystems such as lagoons, marshlands, fixed and mobile dunes, scrub woodland, Mediterranean forest and 30 km of virgin beaches. Doñana is also known for its great wildlife: birds, reptiles, amphibian and mammals. Catch a glimpse of the lords of the Andalusian forest; the Iberian Lynx, The Spanish Imperial Eagle or even the Egyptian mongoose, an endangered species. After your adventure in the nature, you will go on a journey to visit Rocio's Village. The Rocio is known world-wide for its pilgrimage in May and for its hermitage which houses the famous Rocio´s Blessed Virgin. From the magic of this beautiful scenery the tour will go to Matalascañas Beach for a stroll or simply to relax. After some free time for yourself to explore, you will conclude this unforgettable journey with a pleasant drive back to Seville.

Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in Seville, and then journey to the pilgrimage town of El Rocío. Get a special permit to explore the protected reserve of Doñana National Park, known for its wetlands, migratory birds, pine forests and coastal dunes. Visit the 13th-century royal hunting grounds of Coto del Rey and enter the home of one of the densest populations of Iberian lynx (Lynx Pardinus) in the world. Return to El Rocío to get some free time to explore and find a nice spot to enjoy lunch at your own expense. Continue to one of the region's beautiful virgin beaches to look for seabirds and go for a relaxing walk near the shore. Return to Seville in the late afternoon and get dropped off at your hotel or other location on request.

Discover the natural beauty of Doñana National Park on a 2-day tour from Seville. Travel through the northern part of the park to the village of El Rocío. Explore the village and see its sanctuary. Enjoy a walk along the trails of Doñana National Park that follow La Rocina stream. After lunch on the first day you’ll take in the largest dune system in Spain and the fossil dune of Asperillo. At sunset, travel by jeep in a wooded area, where you’ll be on the lookout for storks. Arrive at your accommodation at the edge of the park at dusk. Head to El Acebuche and its visitor center on the second day and begin a tour of the park’s southern area. Travel for 4 hours in an off-road truck to the mouth of the Guadalquivir at Sanlúcar de Barrameda. See the marsh, mobile dunes, and local wildlife before enjoying a typical Marismeño lunch. Make a final stop at El Rocío before returning to Seville.

RECEPTION The visitor will be received at the visitor center by the person in charge of the activity who will welcome and briefly explain the origin of the farm and the tourist development project that is being promoted. VISIT TO THE CULTIVATION AREA A technician (expert) will join to give basic explanations of the different phases of cultivation and conditions required. As well as the collection and sustainability processes that we apply. TASTING The activity will take place in the tasting room, which will be 'museumized' with graphic material. In addition, an explanatory video will be shown at the beginning. Depending on the size of the group, the tables will be set up. Suggestion: White tablecloths, floral decoration that includes strawberries and water service. On the tables, as an individual tablecloth, there will be a printed technical sheet with the company logo and instructions to follow and write down during the tasting. At least 4 or 5 varieties will be offered (depending on the season). STORE The activity will continue with a visit to the store where you can buy the newly harvested product and its derivatives, as well as souvenirs from local artisans. WALK AND GARDENS To finish the activity, a walk through the estate will be offered to show its spaces and its different possibilities that will end in the gardens, where the visitor can take souvenir photographs.
