Rethymno/Chania: Preveli Beach and Kourtaliotiko Gorge Tour

It's the second time we have gone on this excursion because we love Preveli Palm Beach. Very good value for money. The trip has 4 stops altogether: 1) a short hike down the Kourtalitiko Gorge (wear or take appropriate shoes), 2) Preveli, 3) Damnoni Beach and then the last one which name I always forget. You can swim in all the beach stops and eat if you like. Personally I'd rather it was one beach stop less and more time divided for Preveli and one other stop. Preveli is so great, the beach is okay but definitely check out the palm forest, you can hike into the gorge as well, it's so beautiful. And you can walk in the river that leads into the gorge. Also there's a family run cafe there, they sell the best spinach pies and donuts, only three euro and they're enormous, definitely visit the cafe. My recommendation is to swim at Damnoni since the break there is only 45min and then eat at the next stop, ask your guide which taverna gives free sunbeds after eating (must show your check).

this trip was so much better than anticipated. Before going some of the lower reviews had worried us but we ended up having an amazing time. For the amount you pay you get to go so many places, the gorge, palm beach and another lovely beach as well on the way home. Our tour guide was so lovely, I unfortunately can’t remember her name, but she was so accommodating and helpful. As long as you properly figure out where you’re being picked up from you should have no issues at all. Transport was good also, each seat in the minibus had aircon making it a lot more comfortable. Important to note as we hadn’t realised, thered a €5 entry to the gorge that you pay by card and a €13 euro fee for your return travel on the boat. In total this trip costed €25 and it was worth every single penny, can’t reccomend this enough, so so worth it.
