Zurich a journey through time, history and the Reformation

Zurich a journey through time, history and the Reformation

Discover Zurich not just as a charming Swiss city, but as the birthplace of a movement that shook Europe to its core. On this tour, we walk in the footsteps of Huldrych Zwingli — the bold reformer who, over 500 years ago, turned Zurich into a center of radical change. As we explore the atmospheric streets of the Old Town, I will show you where history was made: where sermons sparked revolutions, where ideas challenged centuries of tradition, and where a new chapter in European culture began. You’ll stand in the very places where Zwingli preached and debated, and I’ll bring the dramatic events of the Reformation to life with stories that connect past and present. Why did Zurich, of all places, become the cradle of reform? And what does that mean for Switzerland — and the world — today? As an accredited Fraumünster guide, I will also lead you inside one of Zurich’s most iconic churches. Beyond the breathtaking Chagall windows, we’ll uncover hidden layers of religious and social history that go far beyond art. We'll also stop at the Lindenhof, where the Romans once stood guard — and today offers a stunning view over the city that Zwingli helped transform. This is not your typical city tour. It’s a time-travel experience through rebellion, belief, and power. If you're curious about how Zurich shaped the course of European history — and want to see the city through a deeper lens — this tour is for you.

This tour was a fantastic mix of sightseeing and festive fun! It started with exploring Zurich’s cobbled streets and vibrant Christmas markets, made effortless with the included free travel pass. A short cruise on Lake Zurich took us to the Lindt Home of Chocolate, where the audio-guided tour was fascinating, and the unlimited chocolate tasting was definitely a highlight. We enjoyed a cable car ride that would have offered stunning views if the weather had been clearer—but our guide Yannick kept everyone in good spirits regardless. The included lunch was a lovely bonus and gave us a chance to relax and take it all in. Yannick was so lovely and helpful throughout, and his tips made the rest of our trip even better. Highly recommend this tour for an stress-free and memorable Zurich experience!

My friends and I loved the tour. It was very complete, we got to know the charm of the city and tasted chocolate. I loved the visit to the Lindt museum, we had two hours to see the museum at our own pace. The route with the boat and the cable car is very special. In addition, Yannick is very kind and a very good guide. I definitely recommend it!!!
