From Munich: Herrenchiemsee Palace and Boat Trip Day-Tour

Spend a lovely day out on a boat exploring the beautiful Chiemsee and its two picturesque islands, the Herreninsel and the Fraueninsel. Known as “the Bavarian Ocean,” Chiemsee is the largest fresh-water lake near Munich. Herreninsel boasts wonderful Herrenchiemsee, a palace built by King Ludwig II in 1878 in the image of Versailles in France. In some respects, however, Herrenchiemsee actually surpasses Versailes – its Hall of Mirrors is a famous example. With its elegant gardens and walkways and the beautiful interiors of gold, glass, and porcelain, the palace is a visually stunning monument to opulence. King Ludwig's difficult personality is reflected in his famous elevated dining table, which was raised and lowered through the floor so the reclusive King did not have to see his servants. This tour gives you the full story of Chiemsee and its islands. You even get the option of touring the interior of the palace. This full day tour is one of the most unique and special touring experiences in Germany.

Rosenheim: Private Guided Walking Tour

Rosenheim: Private Guided Walking Tour

Right out of the imagination of the typical Bavarian town, Rosenheim has it all. Near to Lake Chiemsee, where King Ludwig II built his version of Versailles, known as Herrenchiemsee, it is also the scenery for the German TV series “Die Rosenheim Cops”. Once one of the most important satellite cities around Munich, its salines powered the region with the richness of the “white gold”. The Romans came here in 15 BC under the rule of Tiberius, founding the city and creating roads going east to west and north to south that all passed the city. The city lies also at the banks of the river Inn, another great water highway of the past. The name of this city is also shrouded in mystery. Supposedly, the Inn boatmen knew there were many beauties in this town, therefore calling it "home of the Rose", or Rosenheim. The Bavarian beauties still populate the area, in the landscape, buildings and its multicultural inhabitants who are proud to say that Rosenheim has a Mediterranean flair. Learn these and many more secrets, stories, and the thousand years of history that was set to stone in this gem of the Inn.

Our guide Melanie was superb. She was very knowledgeable about Munich as well as Salzburg. She went out of her way to make sure everyone understood what she was explaining. She was an excellent guide in Salzburg giving tips on the best places to have lunch or a snack. And on our way back she also advised us on the best places to visit in Munich. She's a very patient, kind and helpful person. Our driver made sure we got back safe and sound. It was a pleasure to have them both on our day trip to Salzburg

Trip to Saltzburg was very interesting. Due to the winter season, we did not have the boat tour, however, it was plenty compensated by exploring the town and Christmas market. We enjoyed every part of the excursion program. But being the college sportsman, I really appreciated the hiking to the castle. Tour guide, on top of being knowledgeable, succeeded on putting our group in a Holiday mood. Highly recommend!

Our guide Melanie was very knowledgeable and considerate. There was a group of 71 of us that day and she ensured that everyone heard what she said. she walked to the middle and end of the group to repeat her message. Our driver Ropert was very courteous and always had a smile. Salzburg was a great town. I really liked the Christmas Market and the churches.

Taking into account the price it was ok. The guide explains a lot about Germany and Salzburg. Then there is some walk through the city and free time.
