At 9:30 am, your guide will wait for you at outside Exit B1, Yuexiu Park station for Metro Line 2. Then you will climb up Yuexue Park to view the token of the city, 5 Rams Sculpture.The local legend goes that five immortal beings wearing robes of five colours came to Guangzhou on the backs of rams. Each being carried rice and gave it to the people as a sign that Guangzhou would be free of famine. A sculpture was erected in Yuexiu park in 1959 to pay tribute to this story, and to the origins of the name Guangzhou (meaning five rams). Afterwards you will walk to the Museum of the Tomb of the Nanyue King of the Western Han Period, where you will go inside the original tomb that was excavated in 1983 while constructing a hotel here. The tomb proves the long history of Guangzhou that can be tracked back to 2200 years ago. There is an exhibition hall to display all kinds of relics excavated in both the tomb and Guangzhou. Note this museum closes on Mondays. If you book it on Monday, we will let you visit YongQingFang intead of it. Then you will take metro to Academy of Chen Clan, or The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, which is an academic temple built by the 72 Chen clans for their juniors' accommodation and preparation for the imperial examinations in 1894 in Qing Dynasty. Academy of Chen Clan is a complex with traditional Canton architecture style, and notable for the rich decoration which exist inside, outside the halls and in almost every beams, ridges, walls and columns including a large collection of wood carving, stone carving, brick carving, pottery, plaster and iron engraving. Afterwards, take the metro to Shamian Island to wander around the European architectural style area which was former colony for British and French 100 years ago. Your guide will take you to a local restaurant to taste yummy Cantonese Dim Sum for the lunch. Then you will take a public boat from here to Canton Tower or nearby on the Pearl River, view the river, buildings and bridges on the boat. The impressive Canton tower is 600 meters in the height; you can view it on the square. If you are interested, you can buy a ticket to overlook the city. The pleasant day trip concludes at the Canton tower where you can take taxi or metro back to your hotel. Note: Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King closes on Mondays, Academy of Clan Chen closes on Tuesday, we will arrange to visit YongQingFang instead of when it is closed.

It is also where great historical figures like Dr Sun Yat-sen and Premier Zhou Enlai lived. This makes it a place where history and architecture meet. After lunch, visit Yongqing Fang and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. Yongqing Fang combines the city's old commercial heritage with local culture. It has preserved old buildings and cinemas. These elements and attractions like Bruce Lee's home create a rich history and culture for visitors to explore. The Cantonese Opera Art Museum is an important part of this area. It is divided into two parts along the Lizhiwan River. The south bank is used for promoting and displaying Cantonese opera. The Cantonese opera and music performances in the garden are a big attraction, giving visitors a chance to experience the art form up close. Finally, you reach Huacheng Square. It is a large, lively public space. The square is surrounded by important cultural institutions, making it a cultural hub. The lake, fountains and light square, along with the flower islands, make it look nice. It also hosts events like flower markets and light festivals, showing that Guangzhou is modern and lively.
