Things to do in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Fantastic trip! Very well organised, the guide was superb (our guide was actually from Chamonix), the transport was comfortable, there was plenty of time to spend in each location which was a nice change from other trips were you're herded through at warp speed. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy on our trip, so we didn't actually see the summit of Mont Blanc. But the guide gave extra time in the hope that the clouds would clear. I stayed up there for well over an hour and *almost* got a glimpse of it. It was still a brilliant experience. It's free to get a photo in the glass box, but at peak times the queue can be an hour long. I only waited 10 minutes. Definitely recommend the ice caves. The mountain train was quaint and the views over the valley were really beautiful. The ice caves themselves were spectacular. I think that was one of my favourite parts of the trip. If you don't like heights, get in the centre of the cable in the centre of the cable car and look at your feet lol.
