From Annecy: Visit Chanaz, tastings, and cruise on the lake
Set off for an immersive day of heritage, local delicacies, and unspoiled nature! Your adventure begins in Chanaz, nicknamed the Little Venice of the Alps, where you will discover the history and authenticity of this charming village with its picturesque canals and flower-filled streets. Please note: some of the cobbled streets and access to the water's edge may require a good level of fitness. After this walk, you will visit a traditional walnut oil mill, which is still in operation. You will watch a demonstration of the miller's expertise and taste artisanal walnut oil with subtle aromas. Next, head to the floating beehive! Marie Maréchal, a passionate beekeeper, will show you the incredible structure of a beehive and explain the importance of bees for our ecosystem. Finish this visit with a tasting of local honeys (chestnut, fir, flowers) and awaken your taste buds to a variety of flavors. After a free lunch break (picnic or restaurant on the banks of the Rhône), climb aboard the only electric paddle boat sailing on the Savières Canal and Lake Bourget. During this 1 hour 15 minute eco-friendly cruise, let yourself be carried away by the silence of the water, discover the history of the boats of yesteryear, and observe the local wildlife, including beavers, herons, rainbow perch, and more. A perfect day for those seeking authenticity, discovery, and unspoiled nature!
