Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve At 8 am, be picked up from your hotel within the city center/Westland area and drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley. Arrive in the camp in time for lunch. At 4.00 pm depart for a sunset game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve where chances of seeing the big cats are extremely high. Spend the whole day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the big five, hippos and Nile crocodiles. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park under a Croton tree shade overlooking the vast landscape of the park. It's in the Mara that the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (around June to November). Following on the herds are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
