I absolute loved Los Haitises, the nature reserve, the mangroves, the grottos with Taino drawings and sculptures. Driving to and from Los Haitises we saw how the Dominicans really live. The restaurant was great and different than all places I had seen before in the DR. On the way back we made a stop at a hotel in the same style of the restaurant where we had been, this time to swim or just bathe in natural pools with small waterfalls. It felt like discovering a secret place, and again so different from everything else I saw in the DR. From Montana Redonda you have a great view over the landscape but personally I found it a bit boring. Just driving up on the moutain in jeep was great though. The guides were all great.

It was my favourite trip in Dominican Republic, combining water cruise on the mangrove field, bird watching, caves with ancient drawings, tipical dominican lunch, car safari in the mountains and a short dip in natural pools with waterfalls. A day to savour again and again.

The Haitises Natural Park is definitely worth a visit, Ignacio is a wonderful guide. The trip from Punta Cana is quite long but definitely worth it. We were not able to swim in the natural pools because it was raining a lot and they were full of mud.

It was a comprehensive day with a lot of awesome activities. We spent twelve wonderful hours and trip deserve each penny.

Very good and very complete, we did many activities.
