We got very lucky with this group tour as we ended up being the only two booked on. This made the day even more special. Our guide was called Bill, he was great and we enjoyed spending time with him. Bill had a lot of knowledge about the wine and cellar doors we visited. We started the day visiting Clos Henri which was our favourite as it was in a beautiful setting. We then spent the rest of the day visiting St Claire, Whitehaven and Framingham. Lunch at St Claire was also very good and we got to try a sparkling wine which was a welcome change. Each winery we visited was very friendly and happy to talk us through each wine we tried. We spent a good amount of time at each place and didn’t feel rushed at all. We didn’t have any cash with us at the end of the tour but really wish we had been able to tip Bill as he absolutely deserved it. Thank you Bill!
Darlene is incredibly knowledgeable, a good driver and a genuinely lovely person! We had an amazing day tasting different types of wines and learning more about how each winemaker uses their unique position in Marlborough to create a different flavour, wine body and/or acidity. We would highly recommend this tour, especially if Darlene is delivering it!
