Our driver Ken was very considerate, arrived on time at 7am, offered us waters and asked a few questions to get to know each other ! He then helped us buy the cable car tickets, and accompanied us all the way to the entrance. The hike in itself was unbelievable but we strongly advise coming in as early as possible to avoid crowds ! There are few eating spots available there, including a Subway and a cosy restaurant with an outside terrace ! 3h later, the ride back home was smooth, and calm, allowing us to rest well after the long walks ! An amazing activity, that I highly recommend 🤩!

Full description

The driver will pick you up at your hotel, the train station, or at the airport. Relax on the comfortable 1.5-hour drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall. The start time is flexible. During the holiday or weekends, it's better to start earlier to avoid the crowds. Upon arrival, your driver will assist with tickets and then leave you to explore independently. Optional extras include a ride to the top of the wall by cable car and a toboggan ride back down (both own expense). Depending on your arrival time, you typically have around three hours at the wall to hike and take photos. After the wall visiting, the driver will take you back your hotel in Beijing.

Highly recommend this this tour. Our guide David was exceptional, very friendly and knowledgeable, he even had bananas for us as it was an early start and we skipped breakfast. We did the open chairlift up and toboggan back down and had plenty of time to explore the wall up to tower 1. David then took us to lunch in a local village where we had a delicious BBQ’d fish lunch washed down with local Yanjing beer! Thanks so much for a great day out!!
