Getting to Waiheke by ferry was easy and finding the hop-on-hop-off bus upon arrival, was made clear too, with someone holding up a sign. The guides were great and the information interesting. One could fit in two loops on one day, but it is perhaps wiser to stick to one and select a couple of stops to enjoy; or to do the trip over two days to spend more time at each stop. I'll do this again in future and it is cheaper and easier than taking a car to the island. There are also other public bus services available, but this one is highly recommended, even if it is just once or twice!

Upon arrival, exit Waiheke Island’s Mātiatia Ferry Terminal and catch the Hop-On Hop-Off Explorer Bus. The bus stops at a selection of top vineyards, restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches and nature walks.   • Please note that the tour does not operate on Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Anzac Day
  • Tickets are valid for the date that you select
  • All vouchers must be presented to the ticket office and exchanged for boarding passes 60 minutes prior to sailing
  • The ferry departs from Auckland every 60 minutes from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, increasing to 30 minutes at peak times.
