Full description

Take a day trip from Athens to the magnificent structure of the Corinth Canal, the southern peninsula of Greece. Explore Nafplio, Mycenae with private roundtrip transportation. After a hotel pickup, head to Mycenae, one of the greatest and richest kingdoms of the later Bronze Age around 1350 BC. Walk around the archaeological park, pass through the great Lionesses Gate, and explore the Ancient Treasure of Atreus and the Tomb of Clytemnestra. Finally, visit Nafplio, the coastal town where Greece meets Italy. Our day trip into the Peloponnese, including stops at Corinth Canal, Mycenae, & Nafplio, was awesome. It was wonderful to venture out of the Athens and see terrain that is really different and our driver, Andreas, was knowledgeable and funny. He took excellent care of us! The archeological sites at Mycenae, especially The Lion’s Gate and The Treasury of Atreus (a.k.a. The Tomb of Agamemnon) were spectacular. If I had it to do over I would arrange a guided tour in that site so as to learn more. Nafplio is a beautiful town where we had lunch & wandered the picturesque streets. Bottom line is: highly recommend seeing this part of Greece.
